The bad policies of Trump will be with us until at least the mid terms in 2026. It is hard for me to understand why a party that places so much emphasis on religion is so cruel to their fellow man. 65 years ago, I saw firsthand the suffering of my grandfather as he died of cancer with no money. No amount of care or money would have saved him, but a WWI veteran deserved better treatment. Our country can do better and we will. Instead of posting the 10 Commandments they should try following them. Every storm passes.

What bad policies? Getting rid of fraud, and illegals? How is the Republican Party being cruel, by telling the truth? I'd much rather put my trust in a party that has Faith, then a party who supports illegals, gender confused, abortion (murder), and sends billions of dollars to countries who do the same. Do you feel that nothing of what this bill is offering would change what happened to your grandfather, as you said so yourself? You'd be dead wrong. Elderly people on SS are paying taxes on those benefits they earned and were already taxed via FICA when they originally paid into the system, you think that's okay? Veterans are being protected more today then ever before, this bill won't change that, it'll help it. So, please explain what your real beef is....without using the fear mongering lies of the Dem Party, if you can.

Tax cuts by Republicans are meant to help the rich and corporations. They usually get these tax cuts in by cutting supports for the less fortunate among us. As for the tax cuts you refer to, they did not help most Americans by much. That is how Republicans do it. They make you think you're getting a break with just a little bit of sauce for those who make less than $500,000 per year. Then they start cutting the things that have made you whole and able to survive in this rather callous and cruel era.

As a former Subcommittee Counsel and Legislative Aide in the House and one who briefed Hill staffers in the spring of 2022 on greenhouse gas removal methods to include in the USDA portion of the IRA, I know that Maine's delegation helped write and enact the Inflation Reduction Act. The IRA was one of the most important and wise laws to be enacted in many years. The GOP reconciliation bill, as you correctly indicate, is among the most harmful, unfair, in fact, sadistic bills conceived in decades. My disabled brother depends on his full Medicaid benefits. Thank you for opposing this bill. Please help ensure that our whole delegation votes against it if you can. Any vote in favor of it will make us all work harder to defeat those who vote that way.

Well, as usual the big bucks go to the corporations, the military industrial complex and the very wealthy. To do this, they had to cut somewhere, so they chose to make their cuts in ways that would harm regular people. Millions of people on Medicaid will find themselves without health care coverage. I think that is cruel and sadistic. It is cruel because of that deprivation. It is sadistic because so much pleasure is taken by Republicans in doing the depriving. A high percentage of people on Medicaid are working people. Many people on Medicaid and are also disabled. That is fact. Not some dem fear mongering.

I would prefer to have a legislation in which everyone has health care coverage; our waters are protected from pollution and exhaustion; wealthy people were taxed more, not less. I really don't think that billionaires need tax breaks which will increase their wealth as it destroys the lives of others - those who were put on the chopping block in the legislative process. I would also like to know that our water; public lands and parks; and other resources will not be used up and polluted by lax regulatory measures and greed. They belong to us - the American people, not Donald Trump and company.

this bill has been discussed for weeks in many different venues - main stream media aka Fake news and independent news. That said they are all too long and should be limited in size, numbers of line items and there should be accountability on how money is spent. for example the high speed train in Cali that has never been built for well over a decade but has had billions spent, the inflation reduction act that had billions for EVchargers but only a handful built ( literally) . This would allow we the people to see how our tax dollars are being spent
