I am sure you are aware of the situation at CMMC in Lewiston. Is there any investigation going on at the federal level? It has been almost 3 weeks. I had to go directly to my doctor’s office for a refill on 2 medications. The receptionist took all the information and said it would be sent in. I do not have any of the meds. I am all out. It was not called in. The pharmacy gave me 3 tablets. They suggested I go back to my doctor’s office tomorrow. It is a 12 mile trip each way. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, I am lucky enough to have a car and money for gasoline. What about the person who lives 40 miles away? The phones are. It working. The only communication is personal in writing.

I am concerned that the problem is larger than they are letting us know. What about our social security numbers and Medicare information. Please see what you can find out.

Thank you. Nancy Petersons, Mechanic Falls, nancylpetersons@gmail.com

Would you please not make up facts about what happened to Sen Padilla? He did not do any shoving of anyone. He was shoved for asking a question. Asking for redress of grievances from the government is a core constitutional right. There’s nothing wrong with questions and the police don’t have a right to put their hands on you when you’re exercising your rights.

While thousands of your constituents are working hard everyday and paying taxes

and reaching out to groups like 50501 and Indivisible to organize people to show up and tell this administration we do not support what it is doing

-an effort that nearly every researcher of fascism is begging us to do

I read that you are at an 'centrist' gathering that seems designed to divide our party when it is at its most cohesive around common goals.

You call Indivisible a hyper-national org-wtf. It is literally designed to just let people organize themselves in their states in their own way. It is just designed to make it easier by having a virtual 'Olly olly oxen free' common space to unite-but this is not a game.

Others at the gathering call people organizing more people 'key board warriors' but these are the people who do win elections because they are the ones who door-knock and make calls.

Still another person said if your constituents are furious you're doing something right-WTF.

You didn't vote for this bill-good.

But if you and the other 'centrists' at this gathering think voting for the Save Act is anything short of

a dangerous failure to uphold democratic principles and meet this moment

You're wrong, but your constituents will be the ones who suffer the consequences of your actions.

Thank you for letting the second District voters get the skinny on the blatant enrichment of the few at the expense of the rest of U.S. citizens.

I liked hearing today’s information. Very interesting and helpful.

I also wondered about more conclusion to the statement,

“ The unpaid-for bill was anticipated to blow a $1.6 trillion hole in the budget, exacerbating the fiscal instability that already threatened the future of Social Security…” So what did happen to the trajectory of the national debt in the 4 year term of 2017 on? When you say “the bill was anticipated to blow a 1.6 trillion $ hole” - is that anticipated by democrats? What did republicans anticipate? What actually happened during those years?

Yes Jared I'm with Dia May 31st. Last week I called your office in Lewiston and I asked for the young man who answered to pass the message of how Very upset we the people are angry. I also said to him to remind you of the BIRD law which takes out all the BS they were sticking into the cult Bill in the wee hours of the night for two nights in a row. Then I also talked to him saying You have the Right To as well as Angus King and Susan Collins to ask for not only the BIRD law but, also Unanimous Consent bringing a vote to the floor of 60% majority before the Bill can be passed. This if it is supposed to be a Budget Bill should only be about the budget. Not all of the Horrible crap within this deplorable Bill that will kill people low income, disabled, diabetic, elderly, young children and young people starting out life,as well as veterans not to mention the trickle down to the hospitals of America and the clinics the healthcare system can't sustain their agenda. And I have to say, these people have no Care about anything or anyone unless they are the elite 1% of American People or the wealthy individuals. That's who Trump and his minions Care about nothing and no one else. These people are making a joke out of the United States of America. Then Hagseth, hag, definitely wants to try to think our Relationship with, " Our Allies will fight with the US ",when Trump has abolished or relationship with our allies. There's no way they're going to stand in alliance with Trump's made by himself and the heritage foundation with China. A war he Trump and his idiotic bunch he has in this administration and white house advisory or anyone he's got running this crazy government. What a joke. The world's laughing at the United States. Impeach his assets. Impeach JD Vance. Impeach Mike Johnson or at least get him demoted. He must have much dirt around him. He wreaks with lies and BS. There's no way people can't easily find the dirt that can get him dethroned. Please listen the people in Maine and the Nation are angry 😡😡💢😡 We will be protesting. Stand with your constitutes. We the people who got you there to help us. US / The United States People. Not the MAGA cult culture people they're to far gone. But, they are not the majority.

No AMERICAN is losing ANYTHING, sadly under this bloated budget. Literally the ONLY cuts are to illegals that Biden is ILLEGALLY supporting on our entitlements. The LEAST you can do is stop lying to your voters. There are LOTS of things wrong with this bill, but you can't seem to state a single fact, just lie. Crazy.

Congressman Golden,

We elected you in 2024 to stand up for regular Mainers, not Trump's agenda, not the hyper-rich, nor fascist right-wing radicals. I appreciate your resistance to the recent GOP budget. Maine is a blue state, not a mindless red state.

Dear Congressman Golden,

Thank you for your detailed report on the recent spending bill. I appreciate your transparency and fully support your position on this issue.

It is deeply concerning that, while both the President and Congress acknowledge the seriousness of our national deficit, legislation continues to include tax cuts that will likely exacerbate the problem. History has shown that trickle-down economics is ineffective at reducing deficits. In my view, a balanced approach—combining responsible spending, fair taxation, and policies that encourage sustainable economic growth—is the only way to address our fiscal challenges.

The proposed cuts to discretionary domestic programs (DOGE) strike me as short-sighted. These reductions may yield some short-term savings but could ultimately cost us more in long-term impacts to essential services and public well-being.

I also recall your support for certain tariffs. While trade tools can have strategic value, I am concerned that the current administration’s approach is unpredictable and damaging—both economically and diplomatically. Our trade and defense policies should strengthen relationships with allies, not alienate them, and should be guided by coherent strategy rather than reactive measures.

Finally, I was struck by some of the public commentary around this bill. These are complex issues, and I believe thoughtful engagement with credible sources—beyond soundbites or partisan outlets—can lead to a better understanding of the policy challenges we face. Emerging tools like AI can help citizens access and analyze a wider range of information, which I hope more people will take advantage of.

Thank you again for your work and communication. I encourage you to continue speaking out clearly and honestly on these important issues.

Thank you for standing firm on cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. Too many people believe the lies about this being a way to save money. The best way to save money is for dump to stop playing golf every weekend to the tunes of millions of dollars each time he goes and also the last thing we need is a military parade to the tune of $95 million. This farce must end NOW before he bankrupt our country!

Slashing Medicaid and Medicare doesn’t save money, it shifts the burden to families and hospitals. The 2017 tax cuts added nearly $2 trillion to the debt, with most benefits going to the top 1%. Meanwhile, Trump’s golf trips cost taxpayers millions per weekend. If we’re serious about fiscal responsibility, we need to stop punishing the poor to reward the rich.

Thanks for the vote and the rationale. As long as the GOP can keep singing 'moochers and trickle down' the GOP controlled Federal economics system will not only grow morally worse, but economically disastrous also...to the harm of all of us who aren't billionaires, GOP and Democrat equally.
